Wonder Gardens

Our own Billy "the Bee" Douglas serves on the Wonder Gardens Board of Directors. Known as "a jewel in downtown Bonita Springs," the Wonder Gardens are a home to rescued birds and reptiles that have found a new home amidst preserved old growth gardens.
Originally opened in 1936 as a roadside attraction, today the Wonder Gardens are owned by the town of Bonita Springs and operations are managed by Bonita Wonder Gardens Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Under its watchful eye, they are caring for more than 300 resident animals, upgrading wildlife enclosures, growing the botanical beauty of the property, adding education programs and events, and further engaging the community to enjoy this jewel in historic Downtown Bonita Springs.
